Review of Pizza by the Bay

Rains have finally descended and rescued us from the
sweltering heat. Monsoons in Mumbai are always a treat to the Mumbaikars after having
a humid and exhaustive summer. The cool monsoon breeze accompanied by moderate showers only
invites you to explore the Queen’s Necklace. I decided to do a Sunday Sun
downer with my brother at a place that overlooks the beautiful sea and enjoy some
hot, freshly made pizzas.
We ordered for a Bahama Mama and Cranberry Cooler in the mocktails
and a Spicy Chicken Melt as an Appetizer. The Bahama Mama was a mix of guava
juice, orange juice and pineapple juice. Guava juice is something that isn’t used
often in a Bahama Mama but the predominant taste of guava in this mocktail is
exactly what I enjoyed. The Cranberry Cooler had a strong lime and cranberry
juice mix and did not please me much. You must try their Coke Float and Cold
Coffee amongst the beverages.
Instead of calling for their Garlic Bread with Cheese which is
one of their popular dishes, we called for the Spicy Chicken Melt. This is a
flavourful preparation of Chicken on bread with grated mozzarella cheese on top
and tastes just like the Garlic Bread with a Chicken filling. Also they have
amazing Bruschettas that I have had earlier. Coming to pizzas, we called for a
12 inch half and half pizza. It was a mix of a thin crust classic Barbeque
Chicken and Sriracha Chicken.
The Barbeque Chicken Pizza was just as it has always been –
delicious. The preparation was of succulent chicken cooked in sweet and tangy
barbeque sauce and served on a warm crust with onion and capsicum toppings and
it tasted lovely. The Sriracha Chicken on the other hand was slightly glazed
with honey leaving a sweet and spicy taste and topped with olives. This too had
a good taste but for some reason the Barbeque Chicken overpowered it.
I would
suggest you to go for a combination of one Chicken pizza with a Bombay Masala
(all time favourite). We got too full with our order and gave a miss to the pasta and dessert section.
But I would recommend you to definitely try their Carbonara Verdure pasta and
Chicken Lasagne.
Sitting by the window seat in this outlet from dusk to night
and watching the city stroll by is just one of the must do monsoon things! I
absolutely love the combination of - good weather, fresh vibe and great food,
especially pizzas. Don’t forget to take a nice walk at Marine drive post your
heavy meal;)
